So far as I can tell, this may be the biggest single hurdle that a project manager must overcome when implementing a new software system. Inertia to change; the idea that we know it all and you can’t make it better. Yet how can this be so when you’re implementing a new paradigm. Will you try to keep your old paradigms and workflows? Will you attempt to bend the software system to these old methodologies (every good software salesman will try to convince you that this is perfectly reasonable when in fact it is not.)
